Reasons Why Combos are Undetected

Few reasons why combos are not detected by TILES system

1

It scores alone

Every Emperor and Divine hand — anything worth 9 or more — plus Scattered Stars at 8. Tick one and everything else clears — the rest of the list locks until you untick it.

Nine Gates → Nine Gates is the only combo recorded.

2

A bigger combo covers it

When two combos describe the same tiles, the bigger one is kept and the smaller one is removed.

Full Flush → Half Flush disappears.

3

It hit its limit

Two combos can be counted more than once, but only up to a limit. The extras stop counting.

4 kongs with Half Terminals → only 3 kongs count.

Which combos score alone

Every Emperor and Divine hand qualifies on its point value — 9 or more — so a new one is covered the day it is added. Scattered Stars, at 8, is the one below the tier. Each is a hand in its own right, so nothing is ever added on top.

Limits

These combos stay on the hand — they just stop counting past the limit.

Kong — max 3

Only when the hand also has Half Terminals, Mixed Triplets / Pong, Mixed Sequential Triplets / Pong, Pure Sequential Triplets or All Generals. Otherwise all four count.

Pong of Dragon — max 2

Always. A third dragon pong makes the hand Little or Big Three Dragons, which removes the per-pong combo anyway.
